Ashiana Housing Scheme in Faisalabad, Sargodha, Sahiwal and Jhelum

CHIEF Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif has said that the Ashiana Housing Project would be a benchmark in the history of residential projects of the country where all the modern residential facilities would be available to the common man.

According to a handout issued on Saturday, he stated this during his visit to the under-construction Ashiana Housing Project at Saroba Attari.

Expressing satisfaction with the development work of the scheme, Shahbaz said that the project was meant for the poor and common man and no compromise would be made over its quality. He said the PML-N under the leadership of Mian Nawaz Sharif was implementing a comprehensive programme for the welfare of the masses. Utilisation of every penny of the public money was being ensured and all development projects were being completed transparently. Third party audit of Ashiana project would also be carried out, he added.

Chairman Punjab Land Development Company (PLDC) Sheikh Alauddin gave a detailed briefing with regard to pace of work on the project and said that after Lahore, final shape had been given to the Ashiana Housing Scheme projects in Faisalabad, Sargodha, Sahiwal and Jhelum and work on the schemes would start soon.

Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Secretary Information, Commissioner Lahore Division and other concerned officers were also present.

Aashiana Housing Project Punjab Government Application Form

Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif presided over a meeting here on Wednesday to review the progress with regard to low-cost housing schemes.

The chief minister said the Punjab government had decided to start low cost housing schemes for low-income groups, and three, four and five-marla houses would be built under the Aashiana Housing Project. He said that those having monthly income less than Rs 20,000 would be eligible to own a house. He said the Aashiana Housing Project would initially be started in Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha and Jhelum districts and later it would be extended to other districts. He directed that 10 percent quota be reserved for widows, orphans of martyred personnel of police and Army in the low-cost housing schemes.

Earlier, Punjab Land Development Company Chairman Sheikh Allaudin informed the meeting about the progress on the project and said that application forms had been prepared for homes while five information desks would be established in the company’s office. He said that a website would be launched with regard to the Aashiana Housing Project having all details of the project.
